MY TOP 5 WEEKEND GETAWAYS
Planning a weekend getaway but not sure where to go? Let me help you out! Living in Texas, a couple of these are easy/quick recommendations that are just a quick drive away!
Vegas- A weekend in Sin City is all you need to have a blast. Fly in, enjoy some Afternoon Tea at the Waldorf Astoria to kick off your trip, and then hit up the casino. Catch a show that night and the next morning, indulge in a brunch buffet. Walk around the strip, soak in the sights, and spend some time at the pool or spa. Finish off the weekend with a fancy dinner and voila! Your Vegas adventure is complete!
Fredericksburg- TEXAS that is…It's a charming town just outside of Austin, perfect for a low-key wine adventure. Hop on the wine shuttle to visit several wineries along the Hwy 290 trail. While you're there, make sure to stop at the Wildseed Farm for some flower-filled fun. There are tons of great restaurants to try, including Pasta Bella, Old German Bakery, Fredericksburg Pie Company, and Crossroads Saloon and Steakhouse. And don't forget to hit up some of the best wineries in the area, like Heath Sparkling Wine, Grape Creek, Texas Wine Collective, Fat Ass Ranch and Winery, Signor Vineyards, and Wedding Oak Winery. Bonus: if you're in the mood for some sangria, you've got to check out Pontotoc Vineyard Weingarten off Main Street!
San Antonio- Book a hotel on the River Walk and explore the Alamo and all the shops and restaurants along the river. For a day of adventure, head to Sea World or Fiesta Texas. And if you're looking for a more relaxing weekend, check out the Hyatt Hill Country or the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa.
Disneyland- It's perfect for a quick trip (especially if you've been before!). Stay on site to get an extra hour in the parks, and make sure to get a park hopper pass so you can easily move between the two parks. Spend your time hitting up all your favorite rides and attractions.
Legoland- Last but not least, if you've got kiddos, a weekend at Legoland California, Florida, or New York is an absolute must. You can cover pretty much everything in two days, and staying at one of the Lego-themed hotels will make the experience even more immersive for your little ones. Everything is truly awesome at Legoland!
So there you have it, my top five weekend getaway recommendations. Happy travels!
