Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about working with a travel agent and planning your dream vacation.

Working With a Travel Agent

A travel agent offers personalized service, insider knowledge, and advocacy that online booking can't match. I've personally visited the resorts and cruise ships I recommend, so I can tell you which room to book, which restaurants require reservations, and which excursions are worth your time. Plus, when things go wrong (flight cancellations, room issues), you have an advocate who will fight for you. Best of all, my services typically don't cost you more - I have access to exclusive rates, upgrades, and amenities you won't find online.

For most bookings, I'm compensated by the resorts, cruise lines, and tour operators I work with - not by you. This means you get expert guidance, personalized recommendations, and an advocate for your trip at no additional cost. In some cases, for complex custom itineraries that require extensive research and planning, there may be a planning fee, but this is always discussed upfront before we begin.

I specialize in all-inclusive resorts (I book more Excellence Collection vacations than any other agent worldwide!), cruises, destination weddings, honeymoons, and family vacations. My focus is primarily on the Caribbean, Mexico, and cruise itineraries, though I can help plan travel to destinations worldwide. If you're looking for a romantic getaway, family adventure, or group celebration, I've got you covered.

For best availability and pricing, I recommend starting 9-12 months ahead for cruises and peak-season travel, 6-9 months for destination weddings and group trips, and 3-6 months for standard resort vacations. That said, I've helped clients plan last-minute getaways too! The sooner you reach out, the more options we'll have.

Booking & Payments

It's simple! First, fill out my quote request form or contact me directly. We'll have a conversation about your travel dreams, preferences, and budget. I'll then research and present you with curated options. Once you choose, I handle all the booking details. You'll receive confirmation documents, and I'll be available for any questions leading up to and during your trip.

Payments are typically made directly to the resort, cruise line, or tour operator through their secure payment systems. Most accept credit cards, and many offer payment plans that let you spread the cost over time. I'll guide you through the specific payment options available for your booking.

In most cases, yes! Changes are subject to the policies of the resort or cruise line, and some may incur fees. I always recommend travel insurance to protect your investment. If you need to make changes, reach out to me as soon as possible and I'll handle all the details.

Many resorts and cruise lines offer their own payment plans, allowing you to put down a deposit and pay the balance over time before your trip. I'll help you understand the payment timeline and options available for your specific booking.

All-Inclusive Resorts

All-inclusive resorts typically include your accommodations, all meals and snacks, unlimited drinks (including alcohol), non-motorized water sports, daily activities, entertainment, and gratuities. Some resorts include additional perks like airport transfers, spa credits, or golf. Premium experiences like specialty dining, spa treatments, and certain excursions may have additional costs. I'll make sure you understand exactly what's included at your chosen resort.

Club or premium levels (like Excellence Club, Preferred Club, or Butler Service) typically offer upgraded rooms in prime locations, private check-in, exclusive pool and beach areas, premium liquor selection, enhanced dining options, and dedicated concierge service. Whether the upgrade is worth it depends on your preferences - I can help you decide based on what matters most to you.

Absolutely! There are amazing all-inclusive resorts designed specifically for families, with kids clubs, water parks, teen activities, and family-friendly dining. There are also adults-only resorts for those seeking a more romantic or relaxed atmosphere. I'll match you with the perfect resort based on who's traveling.

Cruises

Your cruise fare typically includes accommodations, all meals in the main dining venues and buffet, entertainment, pools and fitness facilities, kids clubs, and most onboard activities. Additional costs usually include specialty dining, alcoholic beverages (unless you purchase a drink package), shore excursions, spa services, and gratuities. Some cruise lines offer all-inclusive options that bundle many of these extras.

Cabin selection depends on your budget, preferences, and who's traveling. Inside cabins are budget-friendly and great for those who spend little time in the room. Ocean view and balcony cabins offer natural light and views. Suites provide extra space and perks. Location matters too - mid-ship cabins have less motion, and certain decks are more convenient. I know these ships well and can recommend the perfect cabin for your needs.

Booking through the cruise line offers convenience and the guarantee that the ship will wait if your excursion runs late. However, independent tours can be less expensive and more personalized. I can advise on which excursions are worth booking through the line and which you might enjoy independently.

Travel Planning & Tips

I strongly recommend travel insurance for every trip. It protects your investment if you need to cancel due to illness, injury, or other covered reasons. It also covers medical emergencies abroad, trip delays, lost luggage, and more. The peace of mind alone is worth it. I can help you understand your options and find the right coverage.

If you're flying internationally, yes - you need a valid passport (with at least 6 months validity beyond your travel dates for most countries). For closed-loop cruises (departing and returning to the same U.S. port), U.S. citizens can use a birth certificate and government-issued ID, though a passport is still recommended. I'll make sure you know exactly what documentation you need.

That's one of the biggest advantages of booking with me! If issues arise - flight cancellations, room problems, weather disruptions - you have an advocate. I'm reachable during your trip and will work with the resort, cruise line, or airline to resolve issues quickly. I've rebooked clients during hurricanes, secured room upgrades when original rooms had issues, and handled countless situations that would have taken travelers hours to resolve on their own.
